The Wellington Division of the New Zealand Association of Women in Aviation and Wellington Aero Club are teaming up to give any women or girls interested in flying and aviation the opportunity take part in this worldwide initiative.

We are holding a Scenic Navigation Challenge - The Cyndi Lauper Challenge (Girls just wanna have fun) on Saturday 12th March. This will involve flying a mini navigation course around Wellington (1-1.5 hours) following clues, answering questions and taking photos. For those with a competitive streak come up with an estimated time for the course and we'll compare it to the actual time. All planes that take part must have at least one female on board (it doesn't have to be the pilot).

We will running a BBQ at the Wellington Aero Club throughout the day so even if you don't want to be part of the navigation challenge you can come along to have a sausage, take a look at the aeroplanes have a chat to people about flying, learning to fly or becoming involved in the aviation industry.

If you're keen to take part in our Navigation Challenge, go for a trial flight or come along to the BBQ click on the link below to register. Aircraft from outside Wellington are encouraged to fly in and take part as well.
